Torrence Brown of Newville named Miss Congeniality

Cumberland Ag Expo Queen selected as Miss Congeniality at the PA State Fair Queen Pageant! 

Miss Cumberland Ag Expo Queen Torrence Brown, of Newville, was selected as Miss Congeniality at the 2024 Pennsylvania State Association of County Fairs Queen Coronation Banquet. Torrence is the daughter of Crystal and Staci Brown of Newville. The pageant was held at the Hershey Lodge on Saturday, January 20, 2024, in Hershey, PA. 

Fifty-nine Pennsylvania fair queens competed for the title of Pennsylvania State Fair Queen.  The competition included preparing an essay, interviews, and a speech on "Why You Should Attend My Fair? There were seminars, contestant events, and a Friday night pizza party hosted by Chloe Bumgardner, 2023 PA State Fair Queen from Lebanon County.

 Five finalists were selected from 59 contestants. Erica Teagarden, Washington County Agricultural Fair, Elise Honeycutt, Albion Area Fair, Keeley Kreider, Solanco Fair, Kera Bentz, Juniata County Fair, Kendyl Steighner, Butler Fair.

 Erica Teagarden was chosen as the 2024 Pennsylvania State Fair Queen, and Elise Honeycutt, was chosen as the Alternate Queen.

 Torrence shared, "I am beyond excited that I was chosen by the other girls through anonymous voting for this position. That truly meant the world to me, to be voted upon by 58 Queens, more so than three judges. Before this weekend, I watched the movie Miss Congeniality with my family and joked about me wanting that title, but I could not be more thankful that it came true."
